This new three-story, approximately 107,000 sf, facility will provide the campus with all new, state of the art, laboratories, classrooms, offices and observatory rooms. There is also a new one-story Mechanical Building of approximately 1,300 sf, and a new Greenhouse of approximately 4,800 sf.

Complete seismic retrofit of all student housing, library, sports facilities and wharf buildings. Included 1,200 linear feet of shoreline stabilization, consisting of the drilling and installation of over 600 stone columns to protect the campus from soils liquefaction in the event of a seismic occurrence.

Remodel of the existing 12,000 square-foot engineering building and the new construction of an additional 10,000 square feet of classroom and laboratory space. This project will include a new technology radar laboratory and state of the art conference and lecture facilities.

Upgrade of the campus-wide underground electrical distribution system, construction of several new sub-station facilities, replacement of existing fire and domestic water services, replacement of gas distribution services, upgrade of building connection and utility interface, upgrades to HVAC systems and other infrastructure. The campus remained in full operation during the duration of the project. Scheduled to be complete in June of 1999, this project was completed four months ahead of schedule.

Construction of a new 20,000 square foot laboratory building and associated sitework. This project had a very challenging site, given its hillside location and the requirement to work within a fully operational CSU campus.

Modernization of the campus' exterior lighting systems.

Part of the CSU-wide Technology Infrastructure Initiative (TII), this project will equip the campus buildings with new BDF rooms, including new switches, router and station cables. Fiber and new copper cabling will be run throughout the campus, terminating back at the new campus hub and MPOE.

Construction of two three-story residence buildings, totaling seventy-five living units and construction of a new 7,092 square foot dining facility.

Replacement of the central site steam boiler plant infrastructure with a six building distributed heating system of individually metered steam and hot water boilers. This change necessitated a supporting infrastructure of complete natural gas distribution system, electrical infrastructure, state of the art turbine driven air conditioning chillers and control systems.

Renovation of the existing Student Center including ADA upgrades, structural retrofit, renovation to the main exterior plaza and construction of a 500-seat auditorium constructed on top of the existing facility. All work was performed while the Student Center remained in full operation.

Upgrade and modernization of the existing wet and dry laboratories.

The project's main focus is the installation of two eight-story concrete encased steel buttresses but also includes upgrades to the HVAC system and laboratory piping system, including natural gas and vacuum, and abatement of hazardous materials.

Concrete encased steel buttresses were added to the building for seismic stability in addition to the replacement of the building storefront and minor interior classroom and office space renovations.

Replacement of all major heating and ventilating equipment.

This 394,000 square-foot design-build project consists of housing, commercial, office space and parking, with complete infrastructure including electrical, domestic water heating and fire protection loops, security system, state of the art telecommunications and data networks, and backup heating and electrical generation.

Coordination of procurement, approval, delivery and installation of medical equipment and their associated systems.
