Building Construction

The building enclosure envelope is complete.  In the winter 2007, the building interior work will progress regardless of the weather.  Painting, flooring, tile work, lighting, ceilings, countertops and plumbing are in progress.  Interior panels, stairways, handrails, doors and hardware will progress in January and February.  Most laboratory equipment is installed and casework is in progress.  The building systems are in initial check out and start up.  Piping systems are being cleaned and flushed.  Laboratory compressed air, vacuum, gas, and purified water systems are being installed.

Exterior Work

Concrete sidewalk paving on the south and west sides is complete . Concrete paving on the north and east sides will progress in January pending weather conditions. This includes the paving on the north and east side of the Science 1 building. Walkway path lighting will be installed following the concrete paving. The area around the mechanical building on the east side will be completed with sidewalk concrete paving and asphalt paving at the east entry area. Please continue to follow all pathways as fenced around the work areas.

Truck Deliveries

While many truck deliveries have been made, there will still be some concrete truck deliveries, asphalt paving trucks, and several deliveries for carpeting, laboratory furnishings, and many miscellaneous items. Please continue to be cautious with the extra traffic on Mariposa and Andre Lanes and please continue to be patient with the delivery trucks as the project is nearing completion.
